Getting in contact with anyone at Yahoo! is almost impossible.  They want you to do everything on the internet and use documents that are written on the subject matter.  Most likely their software that checks games will check for a winner or a loser.  

A possible algorithm could be with team A playing team B.  If team A is the winner, then add pick as winner.  If team A is not the winner, then add pick loss.  If nothing is picked, then the algorithm sees team A not picked, so it counts as a loss.  

If you do not have time to pick, or think you might not have time to pick, just go in and pick all favorites, all home teams, or something you think might work.  At least you will have picks made and not get pegged for losses on every game.  Anyway, I will send an email about these concerns, but you can be almost assured that nothing will change.
