Best I can remember, the year after he bailed on Olé Miss right at Nat'l Signing date, he started playing for amississippi State that fall, which would have been last year. I think he is a true Sophomore. He may be old enough to be a Senior, but
Ithink school wise, this is his second year of college.

He did redshirt. This is his 3rd yr removed from hs
But has he been good enough to garner NFL attention? Don't think so.
Back to the COI, this investigation has destroyed several of our recruiting classes and will destroy this year's because of the cloud that hung over us and the pain it will cause for years to come. Not providing a verdict in a timely manor so we can move forward now instead of 3/4 of this year is crap

Leo was in class of 2015 according to Rivals database. This is his second year removed from high school if so.

I wonder if the red shirt year was a self imposed penalty msu paid for their pay to sign?

Whatever happens, this ordeal will set a new precident with how the NCAA works. It is just insane how this is turning out. Leo said he was paid by Ole Miss and by MSU. Yet, Sheridan isn't going to go after MSU because he believes Leo wasn't "credible" on his statements about MSU, but he believes he was "credible" in his statements about Ole Miss. And the only reason for it is that they couldn''t get the LOIC put in there without Leo's allegation about Ole Miss.
If the charges stick (regarding the Leo stuff), then I fully expect to see Ole Miss file a lawsuit (at least, I hope they would do so). Sheridan has backed the NCAA in a corner where the outcome could end up biting the NCAA in the ass. Guess we'll wait and see.......

I'm confident that LL was good enough to play as a true freshman so the redshirt is suspect to say the least unless he was some kind of late qualifier or something of an academic nature.

There are at least two attorneys on the COI. You would hope they understand the danger (for the NCAA) of moving forward to "hammer" a school based mostly on the highly suspect testimony of a player for the in-state rival. Lewis has told at three, possibly four, different stories and has obviously been coached each time in an unsuccessful effort to clean up the inconsistencies among the various stories. Reports says he was "confused" during the questioning by members of the COI. If the NCAA disregards that, they have only themselves to blame for any consequences.

If you don't mind me asking - who's reporting on Lewis and the COI questioning? I've not seen anything and was under the impression everything in Covington was kept quiet behind closed doors with media not having much to report.

A buddy of mine sent me something that Neal wrote, saying something along the lines that Leo's credibility took a bit. According to Neal, Lewis' story not only shifted but changed during his testimony. I have no clue how legit his sources are, but that is what he is saying.
