As if the Ole Miss Rebels weren’t dealing with enough drama this off season, another player was suspended on Wednesday afternoon.
During his press conference after practice, interim head coach Matt Luke announced that sophomore TE Octavious Cooley would be suspended indefinitely.
According to Luke, Cooley is not on the 105-man roster at the moment because of a violation of team rules.
“Another unrelated matter, Octavious Cooley will not be in the 105,” he said at the press conference. “He has been suspended for violation of team rules. We do expect to have him back at some point.”
Cooley played in four games last season, but didn’t record any catches. In the absence of star TE Evan Engram, who was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Cooley was one of the Ole Miss tight ends expected to step up to replace some of Engram’s production.
Now, we’ll have to wait and see how long his suspension lasts.

Seems like the team is going the way of Houston Nutt.
