Solid 3rd quarter

Team came out ready to play!

Re: Solid 3rd quarter

WRs flexed their muscle and defense played with more energy (but still need a lot of improvement).  One announcer said we scored more points in this 3rd quarter than all 3rd quarters of last year.  That's pretty sad if true.

Re: Solid 3rd quarter

Gotta give credit to the coaching staff for the way they came out for the half. Hate we put in scrubs when we did, but good way to rebound from a disappointing first half.

Re: Solid 3rd quarter

Freeze's teams would have given away the game in the third quarter, but he would have setup an escort for his after game extracurricular activity!

Re: Solid 3rd quarter

Looked good in 3rd but several long plays seemed like streetball resulting in busted plays.  Not sure that happens against better teams.  Seems like we still can't consistently run or stop the run.

Re: Solid 3rd quarter

I don't care what the scoreboard says. We played South Alabama. I saw a defense who teaches their corners not to turn around for the ball (us). I also witnessed south Alabama drop multiple passes that won't happen against better teams. And we still have zero run game. Gonna be a LONG season.

Re: Solid 3rd quarter

I can't blame McGriff for the lack of talent at LB and secondary. I'm a big fan of McGriff and think he puts the players in the right position. They are too timid to wrap up. The secondary is coached to look for the ball. Biggest improvement is from game one to game two.
