Oh, was today signing day?

Wow. I had no idea. Even up to last year, I would have been ticking down the clock waiting on this. Now, I care so little, I did not even know.

I didn’t know either.  Early signing has reduced the excitement for signing day... that and we don’t have 5* signing at OM anymore.

Yeah....we're gonna 3-star the opposition and overwhelm them with our ability to coach them up.....

Re: Oh, was today signing day?

So far Ole Miss is ranked 10th in the SEC with Arkansas and Vanderbilt the chance to surpass the Rebels if they get a few more good commitments.  Being 10th in the SEC is not going to win championships or even make Ole Miss competitive.  Now the big excuse will be the NCAA sanctions, but honestly they were not that severe.

Luke and his staff must be pressured to have better recruiting classes and game day results, if fans are serious about Ole Miss being competitive.  Most likely the worst penalty for Ole Miss is hiring Luke as HC when there were some quality coaches available.  Hey, but Ole Miss has The Grove and NEVER loses a party!!!

Re: Oh, was today signing day?

Does this remind anyone of another era in Ole Miss Football annals.  4 Star QB falls in our lap and nothing much happens afterward.  Luke has a lot of Cut in him that's for sure.

Guess we'll have a lot of "Get Better Mondays" on the horizon.

So do you think Luke will not Cutt it as a coach?

I think he will be a "Cutt" above!  He will live up to his mentor's level of incompetence......

Yep.....just wait until this class of 3-star wonders are juniors....we'll still be using the same excuse and throw in the ever present "we're young" for good measure.

Reload, fire, shoot in foot.....Reload, fire, shoot in foot...Reload, fire, shoot in foot......"The beat goes on.......yeah, the beat goes on...."  But the movers and shakers still  have their boy and their access.....who the hell cares about winning when you are the big fish in the small pond?

Was just thinking the same thing.  This "finish" if you can call it that is likely to be a harbinger for what future NSD's will be.  Full of disappointment for the kool aid drinkers.
But we have a staff of elite recruiters!  I am afraid to even fathom a thought of how bad this class would be without all those heralded recruiters.
Now watch this much anticipated 2019 class all sign somewhere not named Ole Miss.  You know the class mentioned as the reason we settled for Matt Luke.  Then what?
The only question will be is how far are we behind everyone else when the reality sets in that Luke is what we always knew he was and a new coach is required.
The rebuild was going to be the same regardless if we would have hired a proven HC instead of Luke.  Now we have added 5-10 years to the process when you factor in his recruits.  Anyone remember how bad it was when Orgeron took over?  We are on a fast train back to there.

Re: Oh, was today signing day?

I honestly just don't care anymore. I guess I'm still an Ole Miss fan but my interest is lower than ever. You can thank the Luke hire for a lot of that. I guarantee I'm not the only one that feels this way.
