holy crap, so far the list of A grades are truly head scratching. Mullen to FL, Moorehead to State are "A" grade hires? I am fine with a C for luke. we will see

Florida doesn't schedule teams like Maine to pad wins like MSU does. He won't last long.

well scheduling the Maine's of the world still did not guarantee a win.
oh well, journalists can not be subjective and they can not rely on their talent as a writer these days. They have to create hyperbole to gin up emotional responses.

Let me preface first by saying that I hate the Luke hire...
At least Luke has coached FBS games. Nobody has any idea how Moorehead will do at MSU so I would think that until he actually has a season under his belt, give him a C. I would consider the Florida hire as a C or maybe B-. I think he will end up as a failure though.
Jimbo at A&M would be a B
Chad Morris at Arkansas would be a C
Pruitt at UT would be a C

Moorehead was a definite gamble IMO.... As far as the Humpback I'd agree that he will fail....he won't be able to win the 'big' ones..... FSU, UGA, TN are now his enemy....and he won't be able to place all the focus on just 1 school as the enemy...... He used pure hate of OM as his rallying point while in Starkvegas....that dog won't hunt now...

Y’all have Mullen pegged. Florida is a tough place to coach and win at. Spurrier and Meyer won but hardly anyone else. Mullen is in a land of plenty talent, yet he is and has been scavenging MSU’s commits for talent. He is a good coach but I just don’t think he will be as successful as he desires.

Ole Miss gets a C+. A C+ is barely an above average hire. Dan Mullens with the A+ will be interesting. Most likely he will be in over his head in three seasons and exposed as an ineffective coach. Taggart and Richt will be tough recruiters and opponents for Mullens. Even supposed lower level than Ole Miss schools like Steve Campbell to South Alabama, Billy Napier to Louisiana, Sonny Dykes to SMU, and Jonathan Smith to Oregon State had better hires according to Athlon. There is no doubt that Ole Miss missed an opportunity to get a good hire. About Moorhead,
he was a decent coach at Penn State and might do well at Moo U, but one thing for sure is that players, fans, or anyone else should not be in the showers when he or his coaching staff are nearby!!!

Morehead was a very successful head coach at Fordham. His teams played in the playoffs 3 out of the 4 years he was HC. Those three seasons his teams went 32-8 after going 6-5 his first season as HC inheriting a team that went 1-10 the year before. Suffice it to say he has more HC experience than Luke but that in no way suggests he will be more successful. Just pointing out his past.
I still see the Rock every time I see his face with that eyebrow cocked up.
