Andy's time is running out.  sometime you just run out of gas, even though Ole Miss spent crazy money on new facilities and massive improvements to the program as a whole.  the more we provided, the more Andy has underperformed which is unfortunate.  I really would have like it for him if he was able to make a solid move.  But we keep loosing more games we should/could have won.

And it keeps going back to him being unable to get a big guy on the inside really. I guess losing Sebastian hurt much more than I thought it would have. At this point, however, I think it's time to look elsewhere. Too much money was been invested in the program to let it continue as it has.

Re: Ole Miss 70 - Auburn 79

After all his years at Ole Miss, AK is a known quantity. He doesn't recruit big, inside players well and seems to prefer a "run and shoot" offense using smaller, faster players. Fundamentals and defense have never been a hallmark of his teams. The Pavilion is not going to transform him into a much different/better recruiter or coach. Some fans say AK is the best we can do, so don't fire him. (I'm not one of those.)The Administration has to decide if it wants to maintain the status quo with AK or go a different route.

well, the pavillion was supposed to help him recruit. It was hard to sell people on the miniature and less luxurious mid south coliseum that was the tad pad.  we had a dump of a court with zero history of a program. It could be argued that recruiting has improved a tad, but it has not translated to wins or consistency.  Andy lives and dies by the 1 guy.  The moody, the henderson, etc.  the one guy who runs the team.  The current team can be solid in a year as the team as a whole is young, but as stated, we need and never get a down low guy and we don't have a dynamic playmaker to take up the slack.

Re: Ole Miss 70 - Auburn 79

One other issue with AK is that he hardly ever gets a complete team that plays together for four years.  He seems to get transfer players who play for one or two years.  As mentioned above generally has one hot hand that keeps the team going.  I do not understand his thought on recruiting a team that plays together from Freshman to Senior years.  Ole Miss has been fairly competitive this year, but by the end of the season the team will most likely have a deplorable season.

Re: Ole Miss 70 - Auburn 79

It's laughable to say the least.  While our fans point to the "commitment" to the program they fail to acknowledge the admin deep sixing said program's biggest recruit last summer when they pulled the bs with AK's contract. That cost us 2 maybe 3 top notch recruits which in football terms would be like us going another year with signing zero linebackers so yes it's a glaring need.
The reason AK has transitioned into the uptempo guard heavy offense is because that is what we have had to go with and any good coach adapts to their talent on hand to give them the best chance to win.
AK is a product of WAOM if there ever was one.  We will fire him unless he goes elsewhere and he may end up at Memphis if they move on Tubby after this season.  Then we will hire some unknown coach who will win 8-9 games a season and even the most diehard AK hater will have to own up to the fact that he was the best coach we've ever had that even with his unseen success still took 10 years to get an arena that was 20 years overdue.
Regardless of where you stand it's time for change for everyone involved no matter where you stand.  The ones of us posing as basketball fans don't care anyway and most will just bitch when the next coach loses more than he wins that we should just drop basketball and they will continue to bitch about the money wasted on a sport we don't care anything about.  Reality sucks but that is where we are and no new coach of any merit is going to change that.

I will gladly take the position for  half of Kennedy's salary, but I need a decent buyout.  My qualification is that I love Ole Miss!  Now I need to circle the wagons.  This should be enough for me to at least get considered. 😊
