TOS must be hurting for new subscriptions.  Evidently many subscribers have dropped off due to the NCAA investigation and the hiring of an unproven head football coach.  Many fans have gotten tired of the escapades of the Ole Miss Administration and are tired of being stuck in mediocrity.

Once again a football coach undermines the program by having a few good seasons and then allows it to tank.  Both Hugh Freeze and Houston Mutt elevated the program, but allowed NCAA violations to be committed, let their egos get in the way of progress, quit effectively coaching, and let the program severely decline to the lower ranks of the SEC.  They left the program in shambles and should be ashamed of their actions, especially since they were well paid to produce favorable results.

If you get the next five months of TOS, then you will get some recruiting info followed by baseball.  Most of the stories will be filled with sunshine pumping and hopium.  Anyone who has followed TOS in the past knows that they write with red and blue glasses.  They also make fans think big positive things will happen for Ole Miss, but often the end result is not a positive for Ole Miss.  Recruiting prediction is a good example.  If you post on the board and it is negative, you run the risk of being bullied by the unrealistic fans, called a Bulldog, or put on notice by the principal.  TOS may have some good information, but is it really worth the price of admission?

 

well, he did win more SEC games and more regular season games this year than the last guy we had as coach..  just saying...

Yea i want to compare Luke’s team record to a team that quit on its coaches the year before. Whatever it takes to make luke look good right? Spin spin
Actually Luke won the same number of games both sec and non sec as freeze did his first season. The defenses were arguably as bad in both years but the offensive talent was better at every single position so it’s easy to say Luke won less with more. Just like his mentor cut. Of course Luke gets a free pass as the interim tag was in place so first year shouldn’t count right? That’s what they were saying before the season then when it benefited their cause it does count?
The comedy tour will continue with whatever excuse du jour props up the cause.

There are many reasons why Luke did not win more games.  The following are just a few excuses that can be used for Luke not having big success in his first year:

• Luke had the NCAA cloud hanging over him
• The program was embroiled with chaos created by Freeze's resignation
• No one was on staff to preach or create drama
• He lost the starting QB to injury
• The OL was rebuilding again in its sixth season since he started coaching
• He was just an interim coach

Fans can overlook the inferiority of the Ole Miss not being successful like other programs.  Just consider that Ole Miss has The Grove, there are lots of pretty girls on campus, Ole Miss always wins the party, and Matt Luke loves Ole Miss!!!

This must be a marketing ploy by 247 to get more subscribers interested and hopefully have them upgrade their membership.  Maybe many of these new members will become members at least through the end of football season.
