Ole Miss halted a two-game losing skid with a 78-66 win over Alabama last time out. That's the good news. The bad news for coach Andy (don't call me Randy) Kennedy is his fightin' Rebels haven't won a true road game all season (0-5). But the plane is headed west for Austin where coach Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns await. Texas has alternated wins-and-losses for the last nine games, and won its last outing over Iowa State 73-57.
Ole Miss scores 78.8 ppg and allows 75.4 ppg on the season. The Rebels are 36th in offensive efficiency and 155th in defensive efficiency. Deandre Burnett paces the attack with 14.8 points and 4.1 assists per game, knocking back 40 percent of 3-pointers. Terence Davis adds 14 ppg and six rpg. Breein Tyree and Bruce Stevens contribute 10 ppg apiece. The best part of Ole Miss' offense is its low turnover rate (15.9 pct. of possessions). The Rebels have made 52 percent of 2-pointers and 33 percent of 3-pointers on the season.
Texas is an excellent defensive team. The Longhorns are fifth in the nation in defensive efficiency, limiting teams to 66 points per game. They score 72 ppg and are 134th in offensive efficiency. Dylan Osetkowski leads the Longhorns with 14 points and seven rebounds per game. Mo Bamba adds 12.4 ppg, 10.7 rpg and 4.4 bpg. He's also hit 54 pct. from the field. Kerwin Roach II chips in 11.7 ppg on 51 pct. field goal shooting.
