I got an email yesterday for purchasing season tickets for this coming year that included the below image:
One thing that immediately caught my attention was just how empty the student section is. So, for even marketing materials, the University couldn't find an image where that section was full.............

I got that email also and chuckled at the discounts and incentives being offered to try and salvage this debacle. Will be interesting to see how many season tickets are sold. I don't recall seeing them add in baseball ticket discounts before but they have leveraged football ticket buyers and their LF points to get them to buy basketball tickets for years.

They can offer up all the Kool Aid they want.....but when the perpetual 6-6 o 7-5 seasons become reality what will they offer then to keep their "GOB on the job"..... LOL...I rhymed!
Hmmmmm....thinking about it...they can always copy Memphis State and offer $5.00 tickets at Kroger!!!!1

not sure what you all were expecting. We were gang rapped by the NCAA. Our program has taken a beating yet the last 2 years and the only hope is if the 2nd bowl ban is appealed. Else it will be another tough season. I wish people would stop rubbing their nubs in the misery that has been our back luck

This is on Bjork and Vitter. The overwhelming majority of the people I have spoken with had wanted Luke fired for years because it was painfully obvious he was a horrible OL coach. As last year went on, we all witnessed first hand how idiotic his decision making was a HC (seriously, he was clueless as can be and made mistakes that even HC coaches would be ashamed of). So, we knew last year there was a "lame duck" serving as HC. And what did the University do? They did the unthinkable and removed the interim tag and hired him!! So, people can blame the lack of interest on the NCAA if they want, but the bottom line is the University did what the majority of the fanbase didn't want to see happen and pissed off the fanbase.
Luke is the epitome of the "GOB" culture that you better believe exists (even Freeze mentioned it). It's that culture that had Pete Boone entrenched at Ole Miss, holding the University back. It's that culture that Boone's son going into the IPF and pissing off the players due to his "status" at the University. It's that culture that ran off Tubberville due to refusal to invest in the program. And it's that culture that will generate a program that will hover around .500 as long as people blindly accept it and continue to support it. I'm more interested in winning championships, and as long as people fall back into accepting the GOB's running things again, there is not a chance in hell Ole Miss will ever sniff a championship in football. But then, people will have the damn Grove where they can be social with their friends and ask later on how the game went..........

Yup they shoehorned in their 'boy'....right through the back door..... Placed him in position....waited for HC to fail and BOOM....they ushered in one of their own. I'm of the opinion that the mindset that did this is the same mindset that tried this with Mazzone....they failed in that Coup against big Ed....this time they were sneaker about how they did it...
Now we're all being told to shut the hell up and color and LIKE, by Damn, it! We'll see how long their honeymoon lasts once the losing becomes the norm.... But, on second thought, it might not matter because a lot of the folks who want to win big have been systematically vilified and run off....or simply see the writing on the wall and are simply not willing to support a loser any longer..... Insanity, after all, is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.....

The only hammering came with public perception. We did not really get hit hard except for the bowl ban.

They could have at least photoshopped more fans in the seats

Just curious if any of you see Morgan Freeman as part of the "GOB" group? He is extremely wealthy and does sit courtside at most home basketball games. Personally, I figure he's not a part of the clique... but who knows?!

No, Morgan has better things to do than try and exert his political power at Ole Miss. He has an estate near Charleston which is only about an hour's drive from Oxford and he is a basketball fan. Freeman is a donor at Ole Miss. His pays for his basketball seats. Morgan does love Mississippi, so he could have been the football coach at Ole Miss.
