As part of his "Ask for Foregiveness Tour", during Hugh Freeze's speech at Liberty University, he compares himself to University of California Offensive Lineman, Roy Riegels.  

Freeze opened by comparing his tumultuous year to University of California offensive lineman Roy Riegels and his infamous play in the 1929 Rose Bowl. Riegels became known as "Wrong Way Riegels" after he picked up a Georgia Tech fumble and ran 65 yards to his own goal line before being pulled down by a teammate. The play set up a Cal safety that helped Georgia Tech win 8-7.

"When I look back on my 2017, I see Roy Riegels in me," Freeze said.

Freeze made the wrong comparison.  He should have been comparing himself to Jimmy Swaggart. 

Below are some similarities between Hugh Freeze and Jimmy Swaggart:

• Both had good careers and fell from the graces of the public due to activities related to prostitutes. 
• Both attempted to make public apologies and beg for forgiveness from public opinion. 
• Both are not trusted by most of the general public after their escapades.
• Both used tears as a weapon to try and gain sympathy from the public.
