Re: Why are you a Giants fan?

Saints fan from their first day as a team.  Still sick about that last play against the Vikings last week.

The missed tackle after having the game won is a typical event for Saints fans.  The player who missed the tackle even took out another Saint who might have potentially made the tackle!!!

As a young Saints fan, I vividly remember watching Tom Dempsey, the kicker with  half a foot, kick and make a 63 yard FG as time expired to give the Saints a 19-17 win over the Detroit Lions.  I remember as the Saints lined up for the FG thinking how will he ever make that kick.    It was unbelievable to see this kick and I was very happy that the Saints had won the game!

Here is a clip of the kick:

I remember that game too.  I was actually driving back to school while listening to it on the radio.  I swear I nearly ran off the road.

Last week I told my daughter and son-in-law that if I didn't know better I'd swear that guy missed that tackle on purpose to throw the game.  It just had that look to me.  How do you miss that tackle unless you didn't want to make it!

I had the same thought about him missing the tackle to throw the game.  Also, he took out another Saints player who could have possible made the tackle.  In these times of corruption, it is hard to not consider this action as a reality.

Re: Why are you a Giants fan?

I grew up a Saints fan, but felt Sean Payton treated Deuce like total garbage there at the end of his time as a player, so I completely gave up on the Saints (and then they ended up winning the Super Bowl - just my luck). So, I mainly just watch games to keep track of Ole Miss alums. This year I probably only watched 5 or 6 NFL games in total - I've mostly lost interest in the NFL. I'll watch the Super Bowl, of course. This is probably why I'm hoping the XFL makes a comeback - would be nice to have another league that might be more interesting.
