Rebs lost 85-70

We built up a 10 point lead at the half and came out in the second half and only scored 25 freaking points. I didn't get to watch the game, but losing by 15 after building that lead is nuts. Pretty sure this is probably gonna be AK's last season. Something has to change at this point.

I ready to go a different direction with our basketball program.  AK has been here along time. Auburn outscored us 50-25 the second half.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

Re: Rebs lost 85-70

I have no doubt AK works hard and wants the best for the program.  But it seems the more time and more resources he has been given, the more of the same results are delivered.  I appreciate the fact he has raised this program noticeably and built credibility to a program with no history of success. Andy has turned into the David Cutcliff of basketball.  winning just enough to keep everyone hungry but loosing in ways that drives everyone crazy.

Since Ole Miss is not a basketball school, where do they go with the program if they decide to get rid of AK?  Who are some potentially good basketball coaches and who might you hire?

no idea, but this is not the same old crap school at basketball.  for the last 20 years we have been somewhat respectable.  I think we find a coach who can recruit above all.  there are only a handful of coaches that can put it all together but if we can at least recruit the top kids we will not have to worry as much about "coaching them up" as we would about keeping them on campus for more than 1-2 years before they go pro.  Until we start recruiting nba talent, we will not progress much as a program

We don't have the resources or support to recruit the top kids.  That is why AK has been relegated to transfers and taking risks on kids no one else would.  You can bet any potential new coach will see that along with how long it took us to build a new facility and address the embarrassing facilities we played in.
My biggest concern is we are going to regress quickly back to the RB era of 8 and 9 win seasons.  We won't draw interest from any coach that is worth hiring.  We may be able to hire an up and coming coach but even if we do you would have to immediately question why he would choose a coaching graveyard as a program to continue his rise at.
Reality of our basketball program sucks and there are lots of fans who are in for a rude awakening that have gotten used to bitching about no NCAA tourneys but still winning 20 plus games per season.
Newsflash:  Michael White ain't coming except for the games when we play Florida.  I know lots of folks think we can just throw money at him and he will come "home".  That speaks volumes as to the disconnect between Ole Miss fans and our basketball program.  Notice I didn't say fanbase.  That's because our "fanbase" is comprised of football fans being forced to buy basketball tickets to keep their football tickets.
