Alabama is bad for college football

They are allowed to do anything and everything to haul in #1 classes every year. They are never investigated seriously by the NCAA and allowed to handle major violations internally. They've played in the championship game most years of the last decade. Think about it.... 129 teams in FBS and one team has played in the champ game 6 times over 8 years.

It's amazing how they continue to get away with their recruits suddenly getting brand new vehicles, and not a single thing is done about it. College football is a corrupt organization where the rich just get richer, and anyone that dares to challenge that order (and effect the cash flow) will get knocked back down. Auburn won't rat them out, because they know that Alabama would just turn them in as well. I know many folks brush it off as "conspiracy theory" crap or "jealousy". But, they are loaded up so much talent that it's hard to fathom kids wanting to sign up just to sit on the bench for 2 or 3 years, when they could easily go to another school and play for 4 years.

Watching the freshmen they marched out there last night, and seeing the size of them - you can't help but think they spend their entire time in the weight room just working out. All of their RB's are huge, ripped dudes that are incredibly fast. They have linemen that look like they belong in the NFL.

Something is certainly not right over in Tuscaloosa and what they've managed to do for such a long period of time...........

Re: Alabama is bad for college football

Alabama has worked hard politically to place the right people in the right places so they can get and do what they want to do.  Allegedly, each player has a booster who ensures that the needs of the player are fulfilled.  If you ever pass through Tuscaloosa when football practice sessions are being conducted, stop by the training facility and take a look at the parking lot.  Whatever the case, Alabama knows how to run and maintain a program that keeps on winning, and there seems to be no stopping the Tide.

Re: Alabama is bad for college football

the SEC HQ has to get out of the state of bama.  when you are right next door to the biggest football machine in the nation, you are going to be influenced and corrupted.  the state of bama is a football hotbed and they have a natural advantage because they have a good pool of talent to pull from and national appeal as a program.  That is not going to change.  But the administrative pull is the issue.  The problem is logistics.  they are more closely tied to the middle of the conference but jackson could be just as easy of a logistical hub if not for the fact jackson is a shithole

All we have to do is go 120% in as a program and we can make the leap up a notch or to.

It goes even further - Alabama actually has former staffers working at the NCAA in the compliance department, as well as former NCAA staffers working on their staff. They have embedded themselves in such a manner to where they have incredible influence and are untouchable.

MSU has some of the same. They have people in the SEC office and the NCAA. They don't mind playing second fiddle to Bama so they ally with them to bring us down.

I think the SEC head office should be relocated to Nashville. It's centrally located, a major city, and doesn't have the kind of backdoor Bama entrenchment as we see in Birmingham. Now, this could be replaced by UT entrenchment down the line.

Re: Alabama is bad for college football

Nashville would be a good location for the SEC HQ.  Another idea might be to rotate the office throughout the Southeast every few years.  Whatever the case, any alumni or favoritism shown by any employee of the SEC should be investigated and the employee should be terminated if they are not being neutral.  The SEC Office reeks of mostly Alabama and Auburn alumni.  Being in Birmingham definitely influences decisions that are biased to Alabama.

Re: Alabama is bad for college football

If they ever moved it, it would be to Atlanta as with everything else they do there. I'm not sure why the rest of the SEC doesn't have a major problem with this.
